Crush injuries come in many shapes and sizes. They also are not always what we think they are. This course will review the pathophysiology of crush injuries including the rare kinds and the ones we see a little more frequently. This session will cover the treatment of injuries and what we can do as providers to help these patients in these situations.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Review the pathophysiology association with crush injuries.
  2. Review the treatment and the “why” for the treatment.
  3. Talk about what to expect through the course of the patients treatment.

Who Should Attend: EMT’s, Paramedics, First Responders, RN’s, and Medical Providers.

This workshop is designed to meet the continuing education requirements for the MN Board of Nursing.  It is the responsibility of the nurse to determine whether these activities meet the current criteria for continuing education.
